a passion for working with Winnipeg's most in need. If you have
experience and/or formal training in the provision of crisis,
addiction, mental health, counselling, or other human services,
we would be interested in reviewing your resume. First Aid, CPR,
and a valid driver's license are required in almost all cases.
Main Street
Project's permanent employees are members of the Manitoba Government
and General Employees' Union, and receive wages and benefits provided
for within the collective agreement negotiated with the MGEU.

Main Street Project is seeking an energetic full-time Occupational Therapist (40 hours per week, may include some evenings and weekends). The successful applicant will be responsible for the implementation of a life skills based program, providing individualized skill development opportunity for Main Street Project clients.
Term position until March 31 2009, with the possibility of continuation.

| Qualifications: |
- Baccalaureate Degree in Occupational Therapy;
- Successful completion of relevant continuing professional education
in designated clinical area preferred;
- Previous related experience preferred;
- Must be legally qualified to practice Occupational Therapy in Manitoba
through registration with the Association of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba;
- Membership in the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists and the Canadian Association of
Occupational Therapists preferred;
- Demonstrated working knowledge of QOL measures;
- Proficient written and verbal skills;
- Proficient interpersonal skills, must work as part of a team;
- Proficient organizational skills;
- Client service focused;
- Computer literate;

| Crisis
Worker - Casual |
| Starting
Rate: $12.00 to $13.50 per hour |
| Provides
front line, 24/7 support to clients in the IPDA, Drop In, Emergency
Shelter, and Detoxification areas. First aid, CPR certification,
and a valid driver's license are required. Previous experience
in the provision of crisis or addictions related services is
considered a strong asset. |

Some of the
roles we may recruit for include:
Crisis
Worker - provides front line, 24/7 support to clients in the
IPDA, Drop In, Emergency Shelter, and Detoxification areas, this
position is commonly recruited on a casual basis, working a range
of shifts and in a variety of areas.
Mainstay
Coordinator - provides front line, 24/7 support to clients
in the Mainstay Residence. Also recruited on a casual basis to
work a variety of shifts on an on-call basis.
Transition
Services - providing counselling, support, and advocacy for
clients throughout the Main Street Project.
Cook
- prepares all meals for residential clients in the Detox area,
and the Mainstay Residence, as well as all daily soup services
provided in the Drop In area. Participates in ordering, and a
variety of other kitchen related functions.
Maintenance
- supports the day to day cleaning and stocking of all areas,
participating in minor maintenance as required.
