IPDA

Operated in cooperation with Winnipeg Police Service, the Intoxicated Persons Detention Area (IPDA) provides a safe and secure environment for individuals detained under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act.

This 20 unit facility closely monitors individual detainees for up to a maximum of 24 hours, or until such time as they are deemed safe to be released into the community.

Video surveillance is installed in five of our IPDA detention areas as well as in various other high priority areas in IPDA and the Main Street Project as a whole. This installation enhances the already stringent safety standards in IPDA, while also supporting security throughout the facility.

Location of this facility within Main Street Project provides an opportunity for our experienced staff to provide clients in need with relevant information on supports available through the Project, as well as a variety of other community organizations.
