Main Street Project’s COVID-19 Response
Main Street Project is taking necessary measures to address COVID-19 across the agency’s facilities as the health and safety of our staff and community members remains a top priority.
Here’s what we are doing in our program areas:
Emergency Shelter and Drop In Services
Drop-in space and safe sleep space is operating out of 637 Main Street. Appropriate physical distancing in place.
Food Bank Services
We are still operating our Food Bank at this time.
Withdrawal Management Services
We are limiting intakes in both Withdrawal Management facilities to ensure we comply with social distancing recommendations, while continuing our commitment to service delivery.
Residential Services
We have moved to single occupancy rooms for Mainstay Residence. The Bell Hotel is already single occupancy.
Protective Care
Protective Care will maintain its single occupancy per unit and changes will be made to service provision.
Isolation Suites
We have opened isolation suites so that individuals experiencing homelessness can self-isolate and self-monitor while awaiting a COVID-19 test result, or so they have a safe place to recover from COVID-19. Individuals are referred to the isolation site through the healthcare system, not through self-referral.
