Our New Donations Page!

We recently launched a new donations page that is designed to make it easy for you to support us! The new page is user-friendly, informative, and has several NEW options for you to choose from. You can choose to give a one-time gift, set up a monthly donation, donate some stocks, and more! The new page also provides detailed information about donations we previously accepted.

Monetary Donations

Monetary donations help us provide the ongoing services and support our community members need and deserve. Main Street Project is a registered charitable organization and offers charitable tax receipts for any cash donation. You can donate via the secure form on this page.

You can also arrange to donate through our office.

Clothing Donations

We also offer clothing donations and need seasonally-appropriate clothing for our community members.

Donation drop-off hours:

Tuesday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Please come to 75 Martha Street in the courtyard area during these hours; call 204-612-8274, and a volunteer will come to assist you with your donations. Please note that there will not be a volunteer on site to help accept donations outside of these hours. Thanks so much!

Tribute Donations

A tribute gift is for special occasions or milestones, and these donations are often made in lieu of an actual gift. These gifts can be for occasions such as an anniversary, a birthday, Father’s Day, or graduation.

The idea here is that many of us have too much stuff already. Why not ask friends to donate to Main Street Project instead of buying another Christmas sweater?

Plan a Fundraiser

If you or your team are ready to organize a fundraiser, please call our office at 204-982-8229 or email donations@mainstreetproject.ca.

It takes that first step to contact us, and then we can help you along the way to make a difference in the lives of individuals experiencing addictions and homelessness.

Donation of Securities

Main Street Project can accept different types of publicly traded securities, including stocks, bonds, mutual fund units, and shares, and Income Trust Units. Securities must be listed on designated stock exchanges (TSX, NYSE, London Stock Exchange).

The gift costs you less than if you were to sell your stocks in order to give cash. If the securities are sold, and the cash is then donated to Main Street Project, 50% of the capital gain is taxable.

Donations in Your Will

Remembering Main Street Project in your will is an act that is generous, powerful, and surprisingly simple. It allows you to leave a larger gift than would be possible during your lifetime.

The decision to leave a gift to Main Street Project in your will may take place at any stage of your life. Any time is the right time. This is when it matters most.
