Hello everyone! I’m Jamil Mahmood and I’m the new Executive Director of Main Street Project.

I’m going into my 5th week here at MSP. Time is going by quickly! It’s been a great first few weeks with a lot of learning. As I learn more, I’m in awe of the work that MSP does for the community. MSP is a complex organization that provides essential services to individuals who often have no place else to go. I’m immensely proud to be a part of this team.

I’d like to give special thanks to the frontline staff for their hard work and dedication, particularly during this global health crisis, including the redeployed staff from other community health agencies and government who have made running the isolation spaces possible. Thank you for your hard work!

My priorities over the next few months are to continue learning, working closely and collaboratively with the board of directors and senior leadership team, and meeting with and getting to know staff, funders and community partners.

Finally, a major priority is the MSP strategic plan. We’ll be embarking on a new strategic plan that will set the vision and guide our activities, partnerships, and directions over the next five years. We have a call for RFP’s (request for proposals) to assist MSP with this process on our website, so, if this is something you have expertise in, please get in touch. We are looking forward to our future consultations!

Thank you for your continued support of MSP. If you’re looking for ways to get involved, MSP is always in need of financial donations and donations of warm clothing. Financial donations can be made here at the donate link on our website and you can email donations@mainstreetproject.ca to coordinate a clothing donation. Thank you.

Please let me know if you have any questions for me by emailing executive.director@mainstreetproject.ca. I would love to hear from you! Thanks for being here with us.

With best wishes,
Jamil
